'You look beautiful, you are beautiful, you feel confident!' … This was the #VarsityCrew #MEGAcampaign tagline for the first #MEGAFashionCrew Reloaded challenge where in I was assigned the task to do creative direction as the #VarsityCrewPhotographer …. I wanted the whole feel of the photo to be commercial (period)… more than making it look like a fashion editorial, we removed anything that would make it look too contrived. It should speak on how a @lorealparisph woman feels. Our team focused on portraying a #confident woman. Varsity Crew personally picked Franchesca ( @ffloirendo ) to be our model … She is the perfect model for this particular campaign with her flawless beautiful skin, a great smile and natural commercial appeal, not to mention a wonderful upbeat personality we Varsity Crew is known for. Our #VarsityCrewMakeUpArtist Jelly Eugenio ( @jellyeugenio ) created the perfect makeup for Franchesca, showing her natural features, just letting the L'Oreal Paris products help bring out her confidence during our shoot. #VarsityCrewHairstylist #AikyNar let her hair down and show a healthy shine, letting it bounce and move while she poses in front of my lens. The #VarsityCrewStylist Eric Poliquit ( @ericpoliquit ) went down to basics and used a pop of color through a beautiful blue jumpsuit from @apartment8clothing … this complemented and gave contrast to the dark background we have in the photo, just letting the L'Oreal Paris woman standout amidst the #mysterious and #sexy ambiance of #OpusLounge, where we shot the photo on location. Having to complete the whole photo shoot, from shampooing Franchesca's hair, blowdrying… to putting her makeup on, styling and taking the actual photo itself in LESS THAN 30 minutes… we faired second for this challenge out of the ten crews. The 9 other crews were given way more chances to perfect their photo, space to shoot, opportunities and production time to produce a photo of their own, but with mismatched results and quite possibly, some lackluster images. #MEGAFashionCrewReloaded is co-presented by L'Oreal Paris so the Varsity Crew understands the need and CAN provide results on what a global makeup brand wants for their market. We are excited to share the succeeding MEGAcampaigns on how 'beauty' can be portrayed by being #unconventional and not being MEGAforgettable… But you have to watch out for that is the coming weeks!
